Program Notes
A rave is a large gathering of people in a warehouse, club, or other venue with a DJ playing electronic music. Surreal visuals, such as explosive light shows or even massive projected animations, at more complex rave venues, coordinate with the music to create incredible experiences. My piece, All the Rave, a play on the phrase “all the rage,” is inspired by the natural vitality associated with EDM music, and constructed similarly: utilizing compositional techniques such as repeated chord progressions and interlocking rhythms.
