June Violet Aino

June Violet Aino is a composer, trombonist, and performer based in Hartford, CT. They recently
completed an undergraduate degree in Music Theory and Composition from Central Connecticut State University studying under Charles Menoche and Brian Kershner. There they began to amass an eclectic collection of works, constantly aiming to expand their musical and artistic scope. This growth led to national recognition winning the 2017 and 2018 Technology Institute of Music Education (TI:ME) Composition Award, being selected to be apart of the 2018
National Conference of Undergraduate Research (NCUR), and most recently was the beneficiary of a commission from Philadelphia’s Network for New Music. June is currently pursuing their
Masters in Composition from the Hartt School studying under Gilda Lyons and Ken Steen. There June also holds the position of Composition Teaching Fellow and Teaching Assistant for the
Composers Ensemble. Apart from composition, June plays piano and trombone with an incredibly active punk duo called Space Camp that has toured the continental US.
