From the composer:

Staying Home was written during the COVID-19 crisis of 2020. There was an order from the national government to stay home unless otherwise essentially needed. Many artists were out of work with extra time, instead of gigs, to be creative. This atmosphere of creativity is what inspired Staying Home. Staying Home is a relaxing, resonant musical story, which is reflective, sad, while at the same time, peaceful. It might be how someone feels, alone in their home, yearning for connection. It also might be an aid to someone in need because of the relaxing and meditative nature. The technical aspect of the work includes the option to play both marimba and vibraphone at the same time. (in an L shape, with the vibraphone at the higher pitched end of the marimba) I believe that it could also be a duet! Very call and response oriented, with space and accountability; that would be a fun experience as well.
